  A soul mate walks into your life,

  Like a hurricane with one goal,

  To destroy everything in its path.

  To blow down the brick walls you built

  Out of fear of the storm.

  In the instant they walk up to you

  They bring your inhibitions to light.

  They force you to swim through the rip currents,

  Stand your ground against a relentless gale,

  Question what’s worth saving from the floods,

  Toss your delusions into a cyclone,

  And leave in blur with no remorse.

  Cruel as it may sound they act,

  Not out of hate, but out of love.

  They rip you down to the core

  So that you can grow into the person

  You never thought you could become.

  It’s easier not to dive headfirst into the currents,

  Easier not laugh at the eye of the storm,

  Easier not to admit you’re scared

  Of what the devastation might bring

  If gave your heart away.

  The pain of their impermanence stings

  But love is not meant to last forever
